ELOCIN 10,000 LIKES GIVEAWAY

Everyone knows how much I love Elocin. Now I can say I am in the group of 9,999 other people who Liked Elocin Plus on Facebook. To show her appreciation, Nicole Nolan, designer and owner, is running a giveaway. See below for detail. You can visit www.facebook.com/elocinplus for more details.

Elocin has quickly approached our first facebook major milestone. This week, we reached 10,000 likes on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/elocinplus . That’s a testament to you, our awesome community of friends and clients who have joined us along the way.

So this is a very special moment in our trajectory, and we want to share thanks with you our loyal friends. We’ve set up a contest to celebrate this occasion.

The prize? $100 Elocin Bucks to be used on any item available on our website. A $20 gift card to use on www.empresslingerie.com. A brief write up about your personal style with blogger Smart Curves of the Blog www.TheCurvyParks.com.  And... we’ll also send the winner and 3 runner-ups a custom “Elocin Rocks 10,000 Likes” t-shirt — our first ever official t-shirt release, by the way.

Here's how it works

Share a photo of you holding a sign stating "Elocin Plus Rocks everybit of 10,000+ likes"..lol. The more creative, the
better. The most memorable, moving, gone-with-the-wind -fabulously funny or chic submission will win.<---- I know right? ;-) And if appropriate, we’ll also publish your interpretation on elocinplus.com.

Here are some ideas:

  • Create an 851 x 315 pixel image around the “New Age of plus size fashion” theme
  • Pay homage to the old plus size selections by shredding them up (faking like it) while standing looking GWTWFabulous
  • Just be creative

***Once you submit your image becomes the property of Elocin Fashions LLC and we have all rights to use/post/share/tweet
etc at our discretion. If you win, we’ll put it up as our cover photo on Facebook for a week and it will always remain on our 'Fullfigurlicious website page )

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Like the Elocin Plus Facebook Fan Page if you have not already. You MUST be a fan of our page to be qualified to win
  2. Send an email submission to elocinassistant@gmail.com   with yourphoto (.jpg) attached or in the body of the email. Make sure “10,000 Likes” is in the subject line
  3. Post on our 10,000 likes event page
  4. Submissions must be made by this Friday 11/1/2013 at 5pm PT.
Thanks again to everyone in the Elocin community, and we look forward to celebrating with you!

National Chronic Invisible Illness Awareness Week

This week is National Chronic Invisible Illness Awareness Week. The theme this year is: “I choose to (fill in the blank).” I choose to let everyone know I have Fibromyalgia. I choose to not suffer in silence. I choose to help educate people about my illness. I choose to fight and not let Fibromyalgia run my life.

My Fibromyalgia consist of body wide muscle, joint and nerve pain. Some days I have little to manageable pain. I love those types of days. Those are the days I can enjoy my family, pull off a killer photo shoot or rip the runway and just enjoy life. Other days I can experience debilitating pain to the point where I cannot get out of bed.

Lately, I have been doing an extreme amount of research on Fibromyalgia and its symptoms. I came across www.fibroandfatigue.com and they listed every symptom I am experiencing. So I would like to share them with my readers.

  • Chronic muscle pain, muscle spasms or tightness
  • Moderate or severe fatigue and decreased energy
  • Reduced tolerance for exercise and muscle pain after exercise
  • Insomnia or waking up feeling just as tired as when you went to sleep
  • Stiffness upon waking or after staying in one position for too long
  • Difficulty remembering, concentrating, and performing simple mental tasks (“fibro fog”)
  • Tension or migraine headaches

  • Abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and constipation alternating with diarrhea (irritable bowel syndrome)
  • Jaw and facial tenderness
  • Sensitivity to one or more of the following: odors, noise, bright lights, medications, certain foods, and cold
  • Feeling anxious or depressed
  • Numbness or tingling in the face, arms, hands, legs, or feet
  • Increase in urinary urgency or frequency (irritable bladder)
  • A feeling of swelling (without actual swelling) in the hands and feet

I have found lots of good advice on WebMD too. I have found coping techniques, support groups, and exercises that can help me strengthen by body. Here is a link that keep in my favorites, http://www.webmd.com/fibromyalgia/default.htm.

My life will not change because I have Fibromyalgia.  I will still write, rip the runway and be at as many events as I can. I will not let Fibromyalgia dictate my life, and no one else should. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at smartcurves@thecurvypark.com.
